2002: The second Call for Contributions (CFC) - issued by the TV Anytime Forum
as part of its charter to develop specifications for audio-visual and other
services based on high volume digital storage in consumer platforms - has been
published following the 16th meeting in Awajii (Japan) in March 2002. Please

details.
- On
the February 16, 2001, the Forum published it's Metadata specification and
Benchmark applications document. The Metadata specification defines the
attractors and data structures that allow consumers to find, navigate and
manage content. The Benchmark applications document defines the features that
will be supported by the technical specifications produced by the Forum. These
documents can be downloaded from the specifications part of the
output documents
page.
- At
the 10th meeting in Washington DC (January 2001) the members of the Forum voted
to change the Memorandum of Understanding.
Clause 6 was changed to allow an annual membership fee to be charged, clause 8
was changed to create the position of treasurer and clause 18 was added to set
the terms for the dissolution of the Forum. In due course, invoices will be

- The final version of the Rights Managment & Protection
Requirements Document has been published on December 15, 2000, along with a
revised Content Referencing Specification, a System Architecture document
covering Content Referencing, a new draft of the Metadata Specification and a
Benchmark applications document. All of these documents can be downloaded from
the output documents
page.
- Elections were held at the 9th meeting in Seoul (November 2000): the
chairman Simon Parnall, vice-chairmen Henry Chadwick and Sakae Okubo were all
re-elected. It was also decided that all future meetings would last 4
days.
- The Content Referencing Specification has been released as a result
of the 8th meeting in Marina del Rey (September 2000) and can be found, along
with the draft Metadata Specification, on the
output documents
page.
- Two Calls for Contributions have been issued as a result of the 8th
meeting in Marina del Rey (September 2000): one for segmentation of programmes
and one for content referencing using bi-directional networks. Please see the
Contributions page for
details.
- The TV-Anytime Forum provided a Seminar for the Content Industry in
Marina del Rey (Los Angeles), California on September 29, 2000. All of the
Powerpoint presentations are available for download at the

- The TV-Anytime Forum participated in the
IBC Conference held at the RAI Centre in
Amsterdam on September 8-12, 2000. Several papers were presented by those
closely involved in the TV-Anytime Forum. Some of these Powerpoint

page.
- The TV-Anytime Forum was involved with the
eTV World conference in California at
the beginning of August 2000, including demonstrations and
exhibits.
- The Forum exhibited at NAB 2000 (April 2000) and was a large presence
at the "Personal TV" conference held in London in June
2000.
- The TV-Anytime Forum issued its first Call for Contributions in
